About Mrs. Matthews
Mrs. Matthews is no stranger to physical activity as she spent many years in classical ballet. She is a former principal dancer with the Louisville Ballet Company. She studied on scholarship for two summers in New York City at the School of American Ballet, the official school of the New York City Ballet Company. Mrs. Matthews believes that a high level of discipline has molded her into the person she is today. She hopes to instill the same discipline and values in the students at Blue Dragon Martial Arts, especially the children who sometimes lack discipline in today's society. With Mrs. Matthews' ballet training, she is excellent at teaching spinning kicks and forms. She has a keen eye and is able to critique the minute details in forms to bring out the best in her students. Mrs. Matthews is thrilled to be able to share her martial arts experience with her husband, Mark, and her two sons, Ben and Jason, who are also Black Belts. She would encourage families to train together as it brings a closeness no other activity can offer. The family that trains together grows together.
